Hi John,
First, do a thorough check on your tank and filtration system and see if you have got any unconsumed food got stuck any where in the tank or filter. The presence of rotting food can cause pH to drop quite a bit.
Secondly, you can use coral chips, which is easily available from LFS. Coral chips does buff up the pH naturally. However, I suggest that you do not dump the one full bag of the coral chips in (after rinsing a few times) into the tank immediately, cause this may ended up buffing the pH to too high a level for your discus.
What you can do is to use a plastic basket tray or something, which allows the water to flow through easily. First to start with a handful of coral chips, and leave the basket in one corner of the tank, then a day or 2 later, to measure the pH level again. If the pH is still lower than desired level, than add in another handful of coral chips and then wait for another day or 2 to measure the pH again. Repeat this method until you achieved the desireable pH level.
Of course, let's not forget about the need to change water regularly as well.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
