Hi Chong,
Do not buy Atman as far as I know. I believe that Ehiem has spent lots of money to produce their models and point to point attachment are precise eg leakage. My brother got one Atman but immediately encounter problems. Since it was used, LFS do not allow changing or parts to replace.
To WilsonG,
Please consider a bigger version than 2228 for a 4' tank if you really want to use an external filter. Big pieces of sh*t needed to move in order for the 2228 to suck them. Their inlet hang in the middle that only water being suck into the filter and not those sh*t. Only if the outlet is strong enough to push those sh*t around for the inlet to suck, otherwise, useless but acting only like normal bubbles pump cleaning the clarity of water. In fact did everyone notice that sh*t still gather around in the tank at certain area even with 2228 that needed other effort to get rid of those sh*t.
If only Ehiem can introduce a filter that inlet and outlet are generated by motor. At this moment, only outlet is generate by motor and inlet by normal flow which is not good enough. If anyone of you come across an external filter that have two working motor, as big as 2228, kindly let me know. Can't wait to lay my hand on them soonest since I still can't find the perfect way of treating the water and enjoy the viewing aro fullest.
Have a nice day.
