Squid - RTGs have certain base colors like gold, blue, purple base. Such colors are hard to detect when young or at 6 inches sizes. What you can get is that gold tones and shine are apparent at 4th level to 5th level scales. Choose the reddest tail and sharpest head - the barbels are long and pointing upwards.
The best choice is the intensity of gold - such will produce the shine you want. If you want more gold - it may be a thick framed RTG as opposed to thinner gold but bigger base colors - thin framed.
