Discussion - My Conclusion

Hi guys/ ladies,
Step by step, we might have concluded what we are going to do ie from the basic to the hassle/stress free to enjoy our hobby.
Arowana
One should see and read all these marvellous wedsites with patience before concluding which type of aro to own. To own one and later decided to exchange another one will cost time and money. I would advise to save and save to get the best. I believe that some of us regretted at certain stage which can't be help to those professional who managed to cross breed higher and higher quality one each day, including myself.
Tank
My advice to those who has not started this hobby not to consider the size of the aro you bought and thought that a 2' or 3' tank is enough to house this "quick growing fish". A minimum of 4' or 5' and even 6' would be better if you have the space. Design the best and biggest tank that suits your house and you will never regret. I really regret today with three 4' tanks. This awsome fish grow at a fantastic rate especially the RTG, not so for the red or xback.
Filtration
The simpliest and conventional way would be enough ie a powerful/quiet pump with two outlets attached to two big sponge. A MR.CLEANER (now that I found it) would be helpful to get rid of sh*t. Always leave one sponge in the tank and wash the other once every two weeks. Biological bacteria still needed in a well cycled tank.
Imagine this. A quiet tank without much turbulence created unnecessarily but two sponge having bubbles to create oxygen needed, no tank mate to dirty the water or disturb the peace, a must and force to change water once it shows cloudiness should create a stress free and clean water at all time to let aro to grow and develop its' potential. I have three different setup and the above given me the happiest feeling to watch at anytime. I feel shame as I have given the above setup to the cheapest one but turn out to be, he or she is enjoying the most among the three ie problemless. BTW, foods fed is very important to the above setup. If cricket, mealworms or frozen prawn is being fed with, NO to the above. Only frogs or feeder fish is fed if using the above setup and no overfeeding please. I have reduce salt adding recently and also those commercial solution for water changing. I feel that such solution contain artificial chemical that might actually prevent aro to develop it fullest potential in terms of colour. Don't forget aro is a hardy fish. Near to natural and stress free environment should not cause harm to aro so easily. Lighting is definitely a must to help colour development.
Above are only my opnion and hope that you guys/ladies can add further to it for my ignorance.
1. Clean and clear water
2. Correct foods and no over feeding
3. Less disturbances
4. Peaceful environment
5. The bigger the better tank
6. Well lighted tank
7. Don't test the aro's patienceWe should not have any problem in due course. Have a good day.
Regards
ML
