Don't mind i answer. First thing is to get a timer if you want UV light. UV lights remove bacteria, parasites and algae. Prolong switching on UV lights can affect your whole biological system in aquarium since they destroy useful bacterial too. Depending on water volume, on basic switch on UV for 2-3 hours twice per week as instructed by most manufactures and remember to mount in a horizontal position. I could be wrong.
