Thanks Luc,
I think as arolover from Indonesia, I can tell a bit about aro pricing history. The aro price jumped so high around 1980s when "ordinary people" knew about arowanas. People hunted aros from wild, RTGs (Golden),and Reds which was very rare. Since Red was the rarest, the price was the highest as well. Many Indonesian red aros had been exported to Singapore and the price fetched higher price than all golden. I am not pretty sure if the X-Back Malayan Bonytonged were also involved. I think before 1994s the Red was more expensive than X-Back. But since then, mass production of Red made the price dropped.
Still then I love Red most, specially blue base Red (see picture at DFI's gallery). I am wondering where this kind of creature be found in Indonesia. I've never seen them here. What a beautiful fish....!
Now, as the breeding developed, variaty of Red also developed. Violet fussion, Purple RedTM, Rubby Red, blue based Red, Purple based Red, etc. May somebody help again to distinguish these lovely Reds?
All I said might be wrong, thanks again Luc.
Regards,
Alfred
