Thank you so much for the help and order info. In answer to the questions:
1. I feed him once a day (before it was twice a day but with the stress I try to disturb him less). I feed for about 5 minutes, until his belly looks rounded. I feed from my hand to make sure he gets the food and not competing oscar.
2. I have been changing the water 30%/ week (40-50% this week) but because he gets so anxious I thought it was wrong to do it more than that.
3. He has been anxious because there is construction going on in my house. I try to make them be as quiet as possible, and cover the tank, but sometimes there are electric saws which make alot of noise. Could this be the reason for scale loss?
4. I have removed the one stone from the tank that could cause injury, but he has been living with this for weeks without problem, so I'm not sure it's the cause.
I'm sorry to ask your help with so many problems, but I care very much about my aro, so please help--
