Hi TPY,
Firstly, I have to apologise if I have sounded like an expert through my messages. In fact, I started only three months ago. At the moment, I have three 4' tanks with a curve front at 30". Both side are 24". I feel that the aro will like such measurement when they turn gracefully at 24" from side towards the front at 30" without much effort. So far so good. My BR measured only at 12" and 10" for the CR and Xback. To tell the truth, I would have opted for the 6' if space permit from the start.
I met a friend and saw a six footer tank with a 4 years old chilli red that measured easily 2'looks fantastic. Looking at my brother's RTG growth rate, allow me to recommend the bigger the better. No regrets if space allowed you to.
I am anticipating that I will have to change to 6' tanks in 2 years' time too. As for bargain tank, you might want to try Coral Reef in Blk 1017 Eunos. Tel:8417357 (ask for Ben, very nice man). You will be surprised to see the factory of thousand tanks. Please let me know your email address if you have confirmed buying from him. I would like to send a scratch of how the tank should be built which I regretted didn't after having mine. You might want to see the scratch before confirm as it is going to be a long term furniture in your house to give you the most convenience.
My wife claimed that I have spent too much time in all these stuff but I think it is worth it after knowing all of you and the joy of sharing.
Regards
ML
