Hi Kat,
Try checking up the major stores again for Blackwater, any brands will do. To make Blackwater, you need a leave called Katapang leaves which is only available on the street in Singapore. I am not so sure if you can order it online(say internet) in one big bulk.
The liquid to put fish to sleep is called "Transmore".
It is a small bottle with orange lebel and orange cap.
I have used one other brand before and it has the same effects. This solution is needed onlyfor mid-fish and above(16 inches and above), that is, if u are comfident enough to handle a sober fish. It is also not too good to use this solutions too many times.
As for losing of scales, did you see your arowanas jumped and banging around the tank in a very tensed way? Check water conditions. Also how many times u change water and how much u feed your arow?
