Hi guys,
I kept many kind of birds during 1987 till 1990. When I decided to keep only one kind(puteh, I discovered that each one has its' own character ie his foods, bathing styles, singing abilities, feathers etc. Today, I left with only four cages without birds.
Now back to aro. I did not have the same type though but I have three of them at this moment. A Blood Red, Xback and a chilli red. I tried aged water, normal water from the tap with solution added immediately and mixed aged and tap water. Only Xback seems stress each time whether aged, tap or mixed water change. The red species seems happy all the time after water change.
Now food wise. Xback seems choosy over type of food and also particular over mealtime. Those reds seems hungry at all time and actively indicating to the owner. Reds seems more aggressive than Xback. One more thing. My brother's RTG seems growing at double rate than mine though feeding amount seem lesser than mine.
It seems to me that the easiest among them is RTG, then the Reds and last is the Xback. Also I was told that Xback's fins are more tender and easily broke if jumpy. From all your experiences, is it due to their kind or it is just simply individual character? Is the rate of growing base on species even if amount of feed varies? I am very sure that my feeding is double of my brother but his RTG is awsome after merely one month, double the Xback's size and catching up quick with my BR. Even my children know that they are not suppose to go near to the Xback (unfriendly) but do what they like infront of the two reds.
Kindly enlighten what all of your experiences findings. Really like to know them more since keeping them needs many years and wanted very much to treat them like my children. Thanks.
Regards
ML
