Dear Max,
You must have heavily overdose your medication, you are lucky that your fish don't die a few hours later.
What you can do is, provide sufficient aeration for the fish to breath properly, I suspect the gills are affected too. It can be fatal.
Your heavily dosed medication has also destroyed the active good bacteria that is required for bio filteration, that's why the amonia level have shot up.Just remember to monitor the water parameters, and change water when necessary.
I am not sure if this gill-plates will recover but the chance is there.
1) Your medication have also destroyed the protective coat of slim on the fish and thus you see, some slimy stuff on the fish's body.
2) As for protruding of scales, it is very fatal, it is probably due to the sudden change of water conditions. It is good for you now to maintain temperature at 30 degrees and add 0.3% salt.3) Do not feed for next few days and observe what happen next.
Good luck to you.
Luc
